Can now put this printer anywhere in the room and print away. Took less than 30 minutes to install and configure.
This product came and it was easy to install, after I figured out where it went. It paired with the laptop right away and works just great, eliminating a need for one set of wires. I can print from across the room now. It would have been 5 stars but the instructions were not as clear as they could be and you will see a noticeable slowdown in the printing speed.
When the printer (which is really excellent) prints out text it also prints out extraneous characters when using Bluetooth.I am going to try it on another Mini with Internet access and see what happens. I'm still trying to get the Bluetooth connection working. I was trying it on a Mac Mini with no Internet connection. I really wonder why Canon's manual is just not detailed enough. Of course, it may be me.
This seems to work fine for me. When I send a print job to the printer while running in bluetooth, it prints just fine. The only quirk is that the computer reports that the printer is malfunctioning or something, even though it's working fine. Other than the false alarm in the printer software that I get while running it over bluetooth, no other problems were encountered.
It's wonderful to be able to stick this printer anywhere and print wirelessly. The Canon IP90v is a great little printer - perfect for what I bought it for, printing small volumes of documents in a hotel room or other off-site location. The BU-10 attachment makes a great printer even better. It is extremely convenient. Expensive but worth the cost, in my opinion.
